I mean, I can reveal that there has certainly been interest in the property from a number of different sources. One of the really nice things about having a show like Altered Carbon hit big is that suddenly all your other work is seen as worthy of attention. So yes, people have come calling. But as yet no-one has actually signed anything. As you say, it's tricky material and I think some of the producers who've expressed interest haven't really been aware of that until they actually took a bite of the cherry and read Steel. But I'm hopeful that attitudes are changing so rapidly, the gay lead will cease to be much of an issue in the relatively near future. (And to be honest, outfits like Netflix and HBO aren't known for shying away from these areas). Keep your fingers crossed!!

I can certainly imagine dipping back into fantasy at some point, I had a lot of fun writing LFfH. But right now it feels like I've been away from the SF for too long, so I think the next couple of books are going to be fairly cyberpunkish future noir. I just wrapped up a new book in this mode - THIN AIR - which is coming out next month, so most of my time recently has been spent in edits and proofs of that. But I'm also working as show runner for a Dynamite Comics original GN featuring Kovacs. And there are a couple of other side projects which I'm not really allowed to say anything about right now.......
